When this blog was born in September 2009, it was titled “Eats, Shoots and Lays” as a nod to that excellent reference book “Eats, Shoots and Leaves: The Zero Tolerance Approach to Punctuation.” I had chickens at the time, so that made sense. Years later, the chickens are dead (murdered, actually), yet the blog lives on.
In March 2012, I retitled the blog “Observe and report” because that’s what I do. I provide commentary about strange things I witness, mostly grammar mistakes.
